What is a thermal oil boiler?
Thermal oil boilers are devices featuring a heat exchange body where the thermal fluid flows, absorbing energy as heat. This heat is generated by burning various fuel types, including biomass, natural gas, light oil, or waste-derived fuels.
Also referred to as thermal fluid heaters, these boilers operate at elevated temperatures while remaining in the liquid phase, allowing them to maintain low operating pressures.
How does a thermal oil boiler work?
Industrial thermal oil boilers consist of one or more coils that allow fluid circulation, with combustion gases flowing around these coils.
Through this interaction, heat is transferred to the thermal oil, which is then delivered to the end user via a circulation pump.
After delivering heat to the consumer through the circulation pump, the fluid is continuously returned to the heater.

The thermal fluid is capable of operating in the liquid phase at temperatures up to 400ºC and pressures below 15 bar:
- The steel does not undergo corrosion.
- Operating at low pressure eliminates the requirement for a boiler room or costly civil engineering investments.
- No need for a qualified operator.
- The thermal oil exhibits high thermal inertia because of its physical and chemical properties.
